As an EU citizen, you are free to start an apprenticeship in Brandenburg without restriction. The same applies to nationals of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. An apprenticeship usually takes two or three years. For vocational training, you need a recognised school leaving certificate. In addition, you must be able to demonstrate sufficient language skills for an apprenticeship.
There is a collective agreement for most apprenticeships in Brandenburg. This determines the amount of the monthly training allowance from the first to the last year of training. It also stipulates how long and for what work a trainee may be employed in the company.

Citizens of the EU, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland only need a valid passport or ID card to enter Germany. (EU freedom of movement). Please note that you can stay in Germany for a period of three months. In the state of Brandenburg, as in the whole of Germany, there is a registration requirement. If you are staying in Germany for a longer period of time, you must register with the relevant registration office with your residential address no later than 14 days after entering the country. Registration is free of charge for you. The following documents are required:
You need valid health insurance from the first day of entry. Find out whether your existing health insurance covers German health insurance services. As soon as you are living in Germany, you must register at the residents‘ registration office or citizens’ office – no later than two weeks after moving in
