Compared to other regions in Germany, training in Brandenburg not only offers a colourful selection of training opportunities, but also advantages over studying. From the start of the first year of training, you can get involved in society and help shape our common future. Not only do you learn the theory of what really matters in your future career, but you can also apply your knowledge directly in practice - in one of the most beautiful regions Germany has to offer: Brandenburg. You might even stay for good. As a rule, trainees in Brandenburg move seamlessly into permanent, secure employment.

As in all federal states, the nationwide minimum training allowance has applied in Brandenburg since the beginning of 2020. This means that every young person now knows what he or she will earn as a minimum during training. An overview can be found on the Webseite des Deutschen Gewerkschaftsbund (DGB).
As these are minimum amounts, the training allowances are sometimes higher. In contrast to studying, young people can therefore stand on their own two feet at an early stage. At the same time, an apprenticeship in Brandenburg opens up a wide range of career paths and thus also future earning opportunities. Where skilled labour is scarce, responsibility can be taken on quickly within the company, including the possibility of taking over the business.
Those who complete their training to the end have excellent prospects of success in Brandenburg: on average, almost 90 per cent of trainees here pass their final exams. This is due to dedicated company trainers, modern vocational schools and the professional work of the chambers, inter-company training centres and other training service providers. Brandenburg's companies score highly with high rates of hiring trainees on completion of their training. If this is not the case, there is assistance in finding qualified employment. An apprenticeship in Brandenburg therefore offers a reliable entry into the world of work.
Those who already have previous experience (e.g. from a degree programme they have already started) or have a high school diploma can significantly shorten their training - something that many young people are still far too unaware of.

In addition to attractive training opportunities, Brandenburg is also characterised by its high leisure and recreational value. Sometimes, however, this also means greater distances between the learning locations of the dual vocational training programme. The trainee ticket for trainees in the Berlin-Brandenburg transport association (VBB) offers an attractive commuting solution. This means that all public transport in the Berlin-Brandenburg transport network can be used - regardless of the time.
Further information on the network ticket can be found at Webseite des VBB (Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH).
Many companies in Brandenburg also support their trainees with mobility (through job tickets, petrol cards, etc.). Here, too, it is worth asking the companies.

The Brandenburg Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Chambers of Crafts also offer personal counselling before and during training.

You can think of the Brandenburg Assisted Training Programme as a good friend in real life: The support programme of the state of Brandenburg accompanies young people before and during their training - in the event of professional or personal difficulties. The aim of Assisted Training Brandenburg is to support young people on their way into training and to stabilise existing training relationships. With its time flexibility and broad access for young people, the programme is an important addition to the assisted training provided by the Federal Employment Agency.
When moving into a new phase of life, many people do not yet know what to expect and sometimes they need support at this threshold. The programmes offered by Assisted Training Brandenburg are varied and are tailored precisely to the individual needs of the participants.

Entry into the Assisted Training Brandenburg programme is variable. You can start in the final phase of your schooling or if you have not yet found a training place immediately afterwards (Phase I). However, you can also join the programme at any time during your training (Phase II). The prerequisites for participation are residence in Brandenburg, at least foreseeable readiness for training and an existing interest in training.
A total of ten educational institutions are responsible for implementing the programme, which together cover the entire state of Brandenburg and are well networked.
The contact persons in the respective regions can be found in the following map with all districts. The locations listed are the addresses of the training providers - however, the staff are available throughout the district and can also provide advice online!
