The State of Brandenburg supports vocational further training as a key tool for strengthening individual, workplace and social skills. Make use of the Further Training Guidelines to update your staff’s knowledge, improve their employability and develop skilled workers in a targeted manner.

Companies and organisations in Brandenburg can use the Continuing Education Guidelines to secure funding from the ESF+ for in-company continuing education programmes. The programme supports SMEs in Brandenburg in employing working students (on a part-time or full-time basis for in-house innovation tasks) and innovation assistants (graduates of higher education institutions or those who have completed advanced vocational training, such as master craftsmen and women, technicians and business specialists). SMEs as defined by the EU, with their registered office or place of business in Brandenburg, are eligible to apply. Important: The application must be submitted to the ILB before the employment contract is finalised.
The programme for qualified training within the network system supports initiatives that provide trainees with additional qualifications which their own company is unable to offer. The WFBB provides advice on: recruiting skilled staff (regional and national recruitment services, employer appeal), strategic HR development (HR strategy, ‘Good Work’ criteria, skills development), training planning (qualification programmes, research into training providers, practical application, performance monitoring) and funding programmes for businesses and employees – all tailored specifically to your organisation.
There are twelve higher education institutions in Brandenburg, including three universities, four universities of applied sciences and five private higher education institutions. Through the “Brandenburg Innovation Professionals” programme, SMEs can recruit university graduates with a wage subsidy. The WFBB team also actively supports efforts to approach and recruit graduates as well as early-career researchers.
