Student or FSJ nursing internships
There are several ways to get to know the nursing profession. A student internship will give you an idea of the tasks and requirements. If you decide to do a voluntary social year (FSJ) in the care sector, you will get a good introduction to the nature and scope of this profession. You can find offers on this page.

As part of the two to three-week student internship, you can gain an initial insight into the multifaceted profession of nursing. You can do the internship in a hospital, in an inpatient care facility or in an outpatient care service. In a hospital, the focus is more on medical care, while the social component plays a major role in care facilities. Simply take a look at the facilities on offer in the state of Brandenburg and find the right one in your area. You can find some informal information on the topic of "student internships" on the website of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MBJS) or in the flyer "The student internship at lower secondary level"

The Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) or the Federal Voluntary Service (BDF) also offers the opportunity to get a taste of the nursing profession and explore the different areas of the nursing landscape. The advantage of this is that you can get to know the profession better, from geriatric care to nursing. While you get involved in society, you will find out whether a career in nursing (as a specialist with an apprenticeship or with a degree) is the right choice for you.
