The largest new airport building in Europe is located about half an hour from Berlin's city centre in the state of Brandenburg and is expected to go into operation in October 2020. The "Airport City" is being built directly in front of the terminal of the new airport. The 16-hectare site will include an office building complex, an airport hotel with 322 rooms and 4 multi-storey car parks. In addition, a large number of shops, restaurants and doctors' surgeries will also be located here.
