With around 34,7 million passengers in 2018, Berlin is Germany’s third-largest airport location. In order to create the capacities required for the future, the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport Willy Brandt is currently being built. With over 2,000 employees and great potential for the future, the airport is an attractive employer in a growing environment.

Shortly overflown

The largest new airport building in Europe is located about half an hour from Berlin's city centre in the state of Brandenburg and is expected to go into operation in October 2020. The existing Schoenefeld Airport will be extended by 970 hectares as part of the expansion into Berlin-Brandenburg Airport. This will make BER Airport a total of 1,470 hectares. This corresponds to around 2,000 football pitches.

The high-tech airport with connections to major cities all over the world is easy to reach. It has its own connection to the A113 motorway and a six-track railway station directly under the terminal. The airport shuttle to Berlin city centre will take about half an hour.

The "Airport City" is being built directly in front of the terminal of the new airport. The 16-hectare site will include an office building complex, an airport hotel with 322 rooms and 4 multi-storey car parks. In addition, a large number of shops, restaurants and doctors' surgeries will also be located here.
