Many language schools offer special courses for those planning to work in Germany. The most well-known provider is the > Goethe-Institut, the official cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The EU Professional Qualifications Recognition Directive stipulates that professional qualifications are generally recognised as equivalent in the member states of the EU.
Please note that for some professions (regulated professions) you must provide proof that your qualification has been recognised! However, we recommend that you go through a recognition procedure before practising your profession.
Citizens of the EU, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland only need a valid passport or ID card to enter Germany. (EU freedom of movement). Please note that you can stay in Germany for a period of three months. In the state of Brandenburg, as in the whole of Germany, there is a registration requirement. If you are staying in Germany for a longer period, you must register with the relevant residents' registration office with your residential address no later than 14 days after entering the country. Registration is free of charge for you. The following documents are required:
