With around 5,500 employees across more than 125 companies, the Schwarze Pumpe Industrial Park is already an attractive industrial and service hub with a broad mix of sectors.
The site, one of the industrial centres of Lusatia, is specifically tailored to the needs of industrial companies. One distinctive feature sets the Schwarze Pumpe Industrial Park apart: it straddles two federal states. The border between Saxony and Brandenburg runs diagonally through the industrial park.
Over the coming years, the Schwarze Pumpe Industrial Park will be developed into a carbon-neutral site. One of the key themes in this process is hydrogen. This includes, in particular, hydrogen production, hydrogen-based storage power stations and research into the latest storage technologies. Other key future areas at the Schwarze Pumpe Industrial Park include energy management, sector coupling and industrial water.
Plans for new businesses to set up in the coming years include areas such as the manufacture of solid-state batteries, the production of high-purity aluminium and the circular economy.
With its Dock3 Lausitz start-up centre, the Schwarze Pumpe Industrial Park has created a hub for innovation and start-ups in the Lausitz region. Here, start-ups specialising in e-mobility, IT and materials innovation work alongside research institutions and trade associations to advise small and medium-sized enterprises on digitalisation, sensor technology and robotics.
