Job description

Orthodontics with a Vision: Combining Clinical Expertise, Teaching, and Research!

With the new Orthodontic Polyclinic, the Brandenburg Medical School is expanding its clinical and academic offerings to include a dedicated orthodontic department. This creates a modern environment in which orthodontic patient care is closely integrated with the training of the next generation of dental professionals and scientific advancement!

As a Research Dentist or Senior Physician (m/f/d) at the Orthodontic Clinic, you will play a central professional role in this new department. You will contribute your clinical experience and scientific expertise to a university setting where patient care, teaching, and research are directly intertwined. In this role, you will collaborate with various disciplines and mentor students and colleagues in their orthodontic training. This position offers you the opportunity to assume professional responsibility, actively help shape university teaching, and further develop scientific research questions arising from clinical practice. At the same time, you will work alongside the department leadership to shape the professional and organizational direction of the new Polyclinic.

Look forward to a multifaceted senior physician position with clinical responsibility, creative freedom, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on orthodontics—both professionally and academically—at the Brandenburg an der Havel campus!

Start Date: January 1, 2027
Workload: Full-time, 40 hours per week (part-time possible if applicable)
Employment: Fixed-term for 36 months
Work Location: Brandenburg an der Havel - At Germany’s most modern university dental hospital!

Employment under the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG) is possible.

The Brandenburg Medical University (MHB) is a state-recognized university operated by local authorities with a special focus on practice-oriented teaching, innovative research, and the training of the next generation of physicians and psychologists. In close collaboration with our affiliated hospitals, we combine excellent science with modern patient care and are actively shaping the future of medicine in Brandenburg and beyond!

With the opening of our University Dental Clinic on August 3, 2026, we have expanded our range of care, teaching, and research services. The state’s first university dental clinic has been established in the historic, listed former power plant in Brandenburg an der Havel. The clinic offers fully digitally equipped treatment stations and will be gradually expanded to approximately 40 treatment units. In addition to general dental care, the clinic provides specialized consultations for people with dental anxiety and oral mucosal diseases, as well as sleep dentistry and mobile care.
The university clinic is the heart and center of our Brandenburg Model Dental Medicine Program, which we introduced in 2024 as the first program of its kind in the state. Each year, 48 students begin the program and, starting in their seventh semester, begin treating their own patients under professional supervision.
