LEAG is the largest energy company in eastern Germany. It supplies electricity and heat to millions of households, industry and the public sector. Around 7,000 employees are currently driving the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. New business areas and products are being developed. These include, amongst other things, electricity trading in virtual power plants, the operational management and optimisation of energy plants, and the fields of mechanical and steel engineering, design and maintenance, as well as regional development.
Training and further education are given particular priority. Through six apprenticeship programmes and three dual study programmes – such as in the field of electrical engineering – young people are being prepared for the future at the Jänschwalde Training Centre and in Schwarze Pumpe. LEAG has repeatedly been awarded the seal of approval for excellent training quality. The LEAG Conference Centre in Lübbenau in the Spreewald offers a wide range of seminars not only to its own employees but also to interested staff from other companies. These range from skills development, IT and technical topics to health and safety issues. LEAG is currently working with partners to develop a new training network in Lusatia focused on renewable energy.
