With around 3,400 companies and almost 57,400 employees, the food industry is one of the most important economic sectors in the state of Brandenburg. The companies in the sector are active in a wide variety of areas - from agriculture to the food and beverage industry to logistics and trade. The main areas of production are slaughtering and meat processing, baked goods and pasta, beverages, fruit and vegetable processing and milk processing. 

The Brandenburg food industry is present throughout the state, with larger locations in the Spreewald, Prignitz and Potsdam-Mittelmark, among others. Brandenburg has the highest proportion of organically farmed land in Germany - your chance to start a job in a traditional craft or highly specialised academic field.
