Apprenticeships and support

The positive economic development in South Brandenburg is also having an impact on the apprenticeship market. Skilled workers are in demand, and employers prefer to train them themselves. Young people can choose from over 150 apprenticeship programmes or dual study programmes. There is plenty of support available to help them choose the right training programme. Alongside numerous initiatives, the Chamber of Skilled Crafts and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) are particularly active in the region.

Cottbus Chamber of Skilled Trades

The Cottbus Chamber of Crafts (HWK) provides help and support throughout all stages of vocational training in the skilled trades. A wide range of programmes and services assist young people in choosing the right trade, offer support in cases of hardship and help to nurture talented individuals. The HWK acts as a point of contact and supports young people both before and throughout their entire training period, right through to exam preparation.
